Fishing in the Nikko mountain streams opened on March 21st.
While some areas are still closed, all streams will be open by April 5th.
On the long-awaited opening day, I immediately tried tenkara fishing in a nearby stream and caught several small cherry salmon about 15cm long.
I expect the fish size and activity to gradually increase from here, so I’m looking forward to even better results.
