This weekend, I went on a fishing expedition to the headwaters of the Oku-Kinugawa River.
Oku-Kinugawa is located at an altitude of about 1300m, and even in April, snow remains in the area.
Normally, fishing is not possible until May due to excessive snowmelt, but this year there’s less snow, so fishing is possible from April.
It’s a remote mountain area where even cell phone signals don’t reach, yet you can still catch plenty of char, making it a wonderful place to spend a weekend.
