A guide who knows everything about the headwaters of the Kinugawa River will guide you through the entire journey.
This tour is limited to 2 people per group and allows you to experience “Nikko Tenkara” not only about fishing, but also about the history of professional fishermen and the culture of the Kinugawa River basin.

Out Line

Nikko City is located approximately 2 hours by train from Tokyo and is a tourist city that is home to the world heritage site Nikko Toshogu Shrine, but it is also an area surrounded by rich nature, represented by Nikko National Park, and is a central tourist city. Lake Zenji and Yumoto are said to be the birthplace of fly fishing in Japan.

The “Nikko Tenkara Adventure Tour” that our customers will enjoy this time will be held in the eastern part of Nikko City, such as Kinugawa, Kawaji, Kuriyama, and Miyori, which are located east of these areas. Blessed with abundant water, people have been visiting the area since ancient times to relieve their fatigue, and lodging and dining facilities catering to these hot spring guests served mountain stream fish such as char and yamame trout as local ingredients.

The people who caught these mountain stream fish were called “professional fishermen”.

This time, in order to give you a simulated experience of being a professional fisherman, we will not only teach you tenkara fishing at the headwaters of the Kinugawa River, but also teach you the unique way of winding a kebari, how professional fishermen spend their time in the mountains, and how to eat mountain stream fish. Please enjoy.

Itinerary details

Day 1

Narita Airport ~ Visit to a Japanese rod store and fishing gear store (*1) ~ Visit to Nikko Kebari tying (*2) ~ Kinugawa Onsen

*1 Due to flight times, etc., the Japanese rod store and fishing gear store visit may be changed or not visited on the 5th day. (There will be no refund in this case.)
*2 Depending on the flight time, it may be on the 2nd to 4th day.

Day 2

Kinugawa Onsen (around 6:00) ~ Tenkara fishing at the Kinugawa headwaters ~ Nakamiyori Onsen (around 17:00)

<Accommodation>
We will arrange for you to stay at Miyori Furusato Experience Village (lodge, overnight stay without meals), Kominaya (old folk house, overnight stay without meals), or Lodge Kodaimura (old folk house, meals included) according to your wishes.

Day 3

Nakamiyori Onsen (around 6:00) ~ Tenkara fishing at the headwaters of the Kinugawa River ~ Nakamiyori Onsen (around 17:00)

Day 4

Nakamiyori Onsen (around 6:00) ~ Tenkara fishing at the Kinugawa headwaters ~ Kinugawa Onsen (around 17:00)

Fishing Spot

Regarding fishing spots, the guide will guide you to the best fishing spots, taking into consideration the weather conditions on the day. Below is an example. (In order to protect the fishing grounds, the detailed location is not disclosed.)
